Five quilted mattress pads and ten zipped ticking pillow protectors protect five complete beds: the pad adds a layer of 100% polyester fibre that softens the mattress and takes the wear, with a 25 cm skirt for tall mattresses; the ticking cover, in twill-weave fabric, keeps sweat off the pillow and is washed with the sheets. It is the season-opening purchase for an apartment or a hotel floor, and the one that extends the life of mattresses and pillows without renewing them.
